As we transition into each new season, it is important that we support our body and spirit, especially as we are experiencing intense fluctuations in weather, striving to find balance in our ever changing climate. Our immune and body systems respond to not only our external, but internal elements, during these seasonal transitions – colds, sinus infections, inflammation, joint aches and pains are indicators of change, as well as causing us to slow down and to bring our awareness back to our bodies. Reminding us that we need a little support and extra nourishment as we move into each new season.
Join Jen Capozzi, owner of Barlume Apothecary, for a cooking workshop exploring the lost wisdom of how seasonal foods and native herbs can easily be integrated together to promote healing and wellness. Sip on a hot cup of restorative herbal tea, supporting your lymphatic system, while you watch and chat with Jen as she prepares a nourishing Ramen Bowl. We will be preparing a simple immune broth consisting of root herbs and the ever powerful nutritive mushrooms, into a beautiful umami ramen broth, as well as hand made gluten free, sweet potato + chestnut flour ramen noodles. This offering is crafted to support the immune system, to flush out toxins and relieve inflammation throughout the body, while highlighting the simple preparations of each herb in their fresh, dried or powdered state. Explore how food is truly medicine, by understanding how each nourishing ingredient works together in the body. Discover the natural synergies that exist between the whole plant and the whole body in their limitless preparations.
